Manchester City Move to the Top of the Premier League with Late Win over Sheffield United

Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The defending champions were made to work hard for their victory, with Erling Haaland missing a penalty and a number of other chances before Rodri’s late winner.

The Blades had looked to have secured a point when Jayden Bogle equalized in the 85th minute, but Rodri’s stunning strike from outside the box sealed the win for City in the 89th minute.

Haaland was the star of the show for City, creating several chances and scoring his first goal for the club. The Norwegian striker will be hoping to build on this performance in the coming weeks.

Sheffield United will be disappointed not to have taken anything from the game, but they can take heart from their performance. The Blades created chances and defended well for long periods of the game.

This was a good game of football, with both teams playing attacking football. In the end, City’s quality and experience proved to be the difference.
